If you have taken a stroll down the north side of the square lately, you may have noticed evidence of a new artist among us. Marie Grace Photography Studio, located at 110 Washington Street in Sigourney, has been renovated into a spot for capturing milestones and memorable moments. Since photographer, Alley Tish, grew up in Edon, OH, she’s hoping the new pad on the square will bring awareness to folks about her business.
The artist in Alley Tish drew her to photography, and for the past three years with guidance from mentors, and members of professional organizations like the Professional Photographers of America, and Professional Photographers of Iowa, she has been perfecting that art into her very own business.
“ I have taken classes over the years, but had a recent push to give it a whirl.”
On Wednesday, September 5, Tish will be hosting an Open House at Marie Grace Photography, from 11a.m. – 6 p.m.. Current and perspective clients can expect to be treated to a tour of the studio, a display of Tish’s work, and a variety of treats and snacks. Included in the tour will be a stop by the “baby room,” stocked with baby props and blankets, and kept on the warm side so babies will be sleepy for their photo shoot. Dressing rooms where the lavish gowns are stored for maternity and senior shots will be open as well, and of course the large shooting room complete with brick columns, reams of backdrop, and rows of lighting. Discounts and specials for both current and new clients will be offered, and Tish hopes to talk with people about preserving their memories. She said this day is also for her current clients.
“I’d like to give a big thank you to all those who have supported me, and I’m really excited to see where this keeps going.”
