Ex-KENS anchors Karen Grace and Sarah Lucero partnered up to start a new business and are now co-owners of a production company named Posh Boss Productions, which helps to shed light on various San Antonio charities.
The pair live stream their own podcasts to promote local businesses and, most recently, helped to raise money for the Salvation Army’s 3rd Annual Malik Rose Celebrity Bowling event. The evening raised $97,000 according to Brad Mayhar, Public Relations Manager for the Salvation Army.

During the live podcast, Grace and Lucero interviewed Malik Rose, former Spurs players and event donors. Bravo’s “Texicanas” stars were also in attendance along with local news personalities. The hosts also called on viewers who weren’t at the event to donate to the Salvation Army. “The money raised is going to help fund shelters for homeless families,” Grace said during the live stream.
Grace, who was a KENS TV 5 anchor for 14 years, is also the owner and CEO of her own multi-media company, Grace Star Media Group.
She’s using her media skills to help her clients with public relations, podcasts, TV show development, web design, publishing and all other broadcast consultation services. Her company is planning fundraisers for two political candidates, who she said she can’t name yet.
Grace said she is excited about creating the live podcasts to educate viewers about her client’s services. In fact, this Saturday, Grace will be live for more than four hours in a cosmetic operating room at the Dominion Regenerative Care.
“I’m thrilled to show their current and future clients a new hair restoration treatment and a new technique called The Threading Face-lift that vows it can take years off your face,” she said. “Don’t worry, the live online shows won’t be graphic. We’ve taken every precaution to show viewers that these lunchtime procedures are fairly non-invasive.”
Lucero will not be co-hosting the live operations this weekend because she is in New York for Fashion Week.

Grace said their podcasts were inspired by their previous guest-hosting duties. Grace and Lucero filled in for Danielle Cunningham’s show “Mimosas with D” and went live at watch parties during the airing of “Texicanas.”
Grace is also excited about covering more red carpet events and grand openings.
“It’s great that we can engage with the viewer as we go live,” Grace said. “We watch for comments during the podcast and try to answer them while on air. We also realize that more and more people are glued to their cell phones and are going digital for their entertainment.”
“It just made sense to follow that trend and start producing online shows right away,” Grace added.
Grace is also an educator and philanthropist. She’s an adjunct professor at two local universities and an avid fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Grace earned a Master’s degree from Northwestern University. She is also a board member of Catholic Charities, Archdiocese of San Antonio.
Grace is also a proud woman in construction, and is partnered with Texas Radiant Barrier, providing cooling cost savings to thousands of customers, builders and commercial developers.
Her company, Grace Star Media Group is currently working on a gala for the Global Chamber San Antonio. Grace Star Media Group also works with other online digital magazines to provide content for their cover stories.
The company is also teaming up with Virginia Yamin to create new content for two local books that feature only San Antonio’s most successful men and women. You can find copies of “The Inspiring Woman Book” and “The Man of Distinction Book” throughout San Antonio.
