Huawei has started rolling out EMUI 10 to the P30 and P30 Pro smartphones in China. The company had promised a mid-November release of EMUI 10 for the Huawei P30 series, and the stable version is finally rolling out now. Huawei promises faster performance and new UX design, among other things.
The EMUI 10 update version 10.0.0.166 is currently available for Huawei P30 and P30 Pro users in China only. The file size is around 5GB for regular users and about 1GB for beta testers. Folks in China can manually check for the update by going to HiCare App > Services > [Upgrade].
Meanwhile, Huawei is expected to roll out EMUI 10 based on Android 10 for P30 and P30 Pro users globally soon enough. There isn’t an exact timeline yet, but considering EMUI 10 is rolling out in China, a global release is expected any day now. This would come as a relief for P30 and P30 Pro users who have been worried about future Android updates following the ban on Huawei by the US.
EMUI 10 stable update brings a host of new features that includes dark mode, magazine-style UI layout, improvements to performance and more. After the P30 and P30 Pro, Huawei is expected to roll out EMUI 10 to the Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20 X and Mate 20 RS Porsche Design by the end of this month.
Due to the US ban, Huawei cannot do business with Google, which means newer Huawei and Honor phones will launch without Google apps and Play Store access like the Mate 30 series. However, Huawei has assured that phones like the P30 Pro and Mate 20 Pro will continue to receive updates and Android security patches for the foreseeable future.
